Description
Das Open Air Hamm ist ein alternatives Festival und bietet ein gemischtes Programm aus regionalen und überregionalen Bands und Djs und ein buntes Rahmenprogramm, bestehend aus einem Kinder- Kulturprogramm am Samstag Nachmittag, dem Chill Out Zelt, einem Nachtprogramm ab 2 Uhr früh und einigen wechselnden Programmpunkten wie z.B. Graffiti-Aktionen.
Die Bands auf der Bühne spielen meist Freitags von 18 – 02 Uhr und Samstags von 17 – 02 Uhr. Das Nachtprogramm bietet an beiden Tagen ab 2 Uhr Djs, Soundsystems und kleinere Bands. Das Kinder- Kulturprogramm findet immer Samstag Nachmittags zwischen 14 und 18 Uhr statt und bietet Spiel, Spaß und Unterhaltung für den Nachwuchs.
Der Hauptplatz des Festivals ist umrundet von zahlreichen Ständen, die für die nötige Verpflegung sorgen und allerlei Dinge wie Kunsthandwerk bieten. 2 Zeltplätze (ein kleiner und ein großer) bieten genügend Platz zum übernachten, auch mit dem Campingbus.
Das Publikum (ca. 2000 Besucher) des Festivals ist bunt gemischt und reicht vom Kleinkind bis hin zu den Großeltern.
Das Festival wurde 1970 zum ersten mal in Eich auf dem Sportplatz veranstaltet und findet seit 1981 auf der Rheinwiese 12 Apostel bei Hamm am Rhein statt. Veranstaltet wird das Open Air Hamm vom Open Air Hamm e.V.. Die Veranstalter des Festivals arbeiten alle ehrenamtlich. Falls Gewinne anfallen sollten, werden diese wieder in das Festival investiert.
